About Me
Hi, welcome to my website. I’m Kara, a 34-year-old self-taught photographer based in the Lincolnshire Wolds. I am Lincolnshire born, I moved to Yorkshire in my late teens and early twenties. While living in the north, I also lived in Cumbria and Lancashire.
It was September 2019 when I got into photography. Working a full-time job in Ambleside, I realised there was more to life than just work. I was too impatient to join a college and couldn’t wait a year, so I decided to learn on my own using social media and YouTube. I practised a lot with the camera, especially in the Lake District, where there’s so much to capture.
I also wanted to create authentic photographs, so I don’t do much editing. I want my work to be as real as possible, so if you visit a place I’ve photographed, you’ll see what I did.
In 2021, I began selling my craft at fairs, which I thoroughly enjoyed and allowed me to meet new people. Later that year, I moved back to Lincolnshire. My photography evolved after a visit to RAF Coningsby where I witnessed a typhoon. Captivated by the spectacle, I became engrossed in my camera and discovered my passion for aviation photography, which has since become a central focus of my work. In 2025, I attended my first-ever RIAT event and was utterly amazed by the experience. Fuelled by my excitement and love for photography, I’m eager to explore new avenues in 2026 and share my unique perspective with the world through my lens.
